How Newnity Works

A simple guide to creating campaigns and supporting creators with USDC on Base

For Creators

Launch your project and get funded

Connect Your Wallet
Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right corner and connect your Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, etc.)

Create Your Campaign

Click "Create Campaign" and fill in the details:

  • Campaign title and description
  • Funding goal (in USDC)
  • Campaign duration (deadline)
  • Cover image (recommended: 1920x1080px, 16:9 ratio)
  • Reward tiers (optional)

Launch to Blockchain
After creating your campaign, click "Launch to Blockchain" to make it live. You'll need to approve a transaction in your wallet. This registers your campaign on the smart contract that holds all pledged funds securely.

Manage Your Campaign

Access your Creator Dashboard to manage your campaign:

  • View Backers: See all supporters and their pledge amounts
  • Track Progress: Monitor funding status in real-time
  • Post Updates: Keep backers informed about your progress
  • Send Rewards: Deliver rewards to backers after campaign success

Click "Creator Dashboard" button on your campaign page to access these features.

Share & Promote
Share your campaign link with your community. Backers can now pledge USDC to support your project.

Settle & Receive Funds

After the campaign deadline:

  • Goal Reached: Click "Settle Campaign" to receive funds (minus 5% platform fee)
  • Goal Not Reached: Campaign is marked as failed - backers must claim refunds manually

Once settled, you can send rewards to your backers from the Creator Dashboard.

⚠️ Important for Failed Campaigns

If your campaign fails, backers must manually claim their refunds. Consider posting an update to remind your backers to claim their refunds from the campaign page.

⚠️Important Notes for Creators
  • All-or-Nothing: You only receive funds if your campaign reaches its goal
  • Platform Fee: 5% fee is deducted from successful campaigns
  • Image Guidelines: Use 16:9 ratio images with important content centered
  • Edit Anytime: You can edit campaign details before launch

Support creators you believe in

Connect Your Wallet
Connect your Web3 wallet to browse and back campaigns. Make sure you have USDC on Base Sepolia testnet.

Find a Campaign
Browse campaigns on the Discover page. Click on any campaign to see full details, reward tiers, and funding progress.

Make a Pledge

Click "Back This Project" and follow these steps:

  • Select Amount: Choose a reward tier or enter a custom amount
  • Approve USDC: Approve the smart contract to spend your USDC (one-time per campaign)
  • Confirm Pledge: Complete the pledge transaction

Track Your Pledges & Rewards

View all your pledges and rewards in your Dashboard:

  • My Dashboard: See all campaigns you've backed
  • Campaign Progress: Track funding status and updates
  • View Rewards: Access rewards sent by creators after campaign success
  • Receive Updates: Check campaign updates posted by creators

To view your rewards: Click your profile icon → "Dashboard" → "View Rewards" button. Creators will send you messages and links to access your rewards after successful campaigns.

🚨 IMPORTANT: How to Claim Your Refund

If a campaign fails to reach its goal, you MUST manually claim your refund. Refunds are NOT automatic!

How to claim your refund:

  1. Visit the campaign page after the deadline has passed
  2. Look for the "Claim Refund" button - it will appear if the campaign failed
  3. Click "Claim Refund" and approve the transaction in your wallet
  4. Your USDC will be returned to your wallet immediately

⚠️ Don't Forget to Claim!

  • Your refund will remain available indefinitely on the blockchain
  • However, if you forget to claim it, your funds will stay locked in the contract
  • Check your Dashboard regularly for failed campaigns
  • We recommend claiming refunds within 30 days of campaign end

💡 Why Manual Refunds?

Manual refunds save gas fees. Instead of the platform paying gas to refund everyone automatically, each backer only pays gas for their own refund when they're ready to claim it. This keeps costs low for everyone.

💡Important Notes for Backers
  • Safe & Secure: Your funds are held in a smart contract until the campaign ends
  • Manual Refunds: If a campaign fails, YOU must claim your refund - it's not automatic!
  • Two Transactions: You'll need to approve two transactions - one for USDC approval, one for the pledge
  • Gas Fees: Small network fees apply for each transaction (including refund claims)
  • Check Dashboard: Regularly check your Dashboard for campaigns that need refund claims
